Black Tea:

The most common type of tea. It is subject to a long production process. The basic steps are: wilting, curling, fermenting and drying. The taste is determined by factors such as the country of origin of the tea, plantation, harvest time or the degree of wilting. Ceylon black teas are considered the best in the world. The carefully selected top leaves of the shrubs give an infusion worth recommending to connoisseurs.

Brewing method:

Pour a teaspoon of tea with hot water at 95 degrees C (the so-called white boiling water; hot non-boiling), brew in two ways:

- When brewed for a short time, up to 3 minutes, the infusion is refreshing and stimulating.

- When brewed for up to 5 minutes, it gives a relaxing effect.

Brewing for too long causes astringency in the taste of the brew.

Black tea leaves can only be brewed once.

Sri Lanka - The only Ozone Friendly tea producer

Under the influence of scientists' warnings, in 1987 in Montreal, an international agreement was signed on the protection of the ozone layer, the so-called Monteral Protocol. Under the protocol, the use of methyl bromide in tea production in Sri Lanka was gradually reduced and then completely phased out.

Thanks to such quick and effective operation,  Sri Lanka was recognized as a "leader in the protection of the ozone layer", receiving the Montreal Implementers Award in 2007.

All teas grown in Sri Lanka are 100% "Ozone friendly". It is worth noting that no other country producing tea can boast such an achievement .

Ceylon teas bear the new  "Ozone Friendly Pure Ceylon Tea" logo, which  confirms that they were produced without the use of any ozone depleting substances.

Ozone Friendly Certification : OZ/AE/BT/00031
